America 250. The Road West

250 years of America. 100 years of Route 66. One road and one question: does the American Dream still exist?

Kruko is the title sponsor of Radio Wnet's reporting expedition across the United States. From 21 October to 7 November 2026, two journalists will travel from Texas to Nevada in search of the modern American Dream and the Polish trail in America.

Why we support this project

The Polish trail in America is not only the history of early settlers and parishes. It is also the people who help build the American economy today: entrepreneurs, scientists and specialists. We are one of them. From Rzeszów, we build software for companies in the United States and see every day how close Poland and America are today. That is why we are proud to support an expedition that tells the story of Poles who helped build the American Dream, yesterday and today.

What is the American Dream 250 years after the United States was founded? Can it still come true?

01 | Texas

The roots of the American Dream

Houston, the rodeo in Bryan, ranches, farmers and local communities. Thanks to cooperation with Prof. Jim Mazurkiewicz, the team will meet entrepreneurs, students, farmers and local officials.

02 | Road trip

America in between

About 2,500 km in four days through Texas, New Mexico and Arizona: Interstate 10, El Paso and the Mexican border, the Tigua community of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, the white dunes of White Sands, the cacti of the Sonoran Desert, historic Route 66 and the old gold-mining town of Oatman.

03 | Nevada

The American Dream reinvented

Las Vegas beyond the Strip, people who moved West to start again, the history of the gold and silver rush, lithium as the new gold, Polish entrepreneurs and the local Polish community.

The Polish trail in America

Throughout the expedition, the reporters will look for the stories of Poles who helped build the United States and still do. They will show how Polish emigration has changed and what business, academic and social ties connect the two countries today. Key stops on the route:

  1. 01

St. Stanislaus Catholic Parish in Chappell Hill, Texas: Polish roots, faith and community.

  2. 02

Texas A&M Polish Association in College Station.

  3. 03

The Polish American Chamber of Commerce in Texas, in Houston.

  4. 04

Polish companies, emigrant stories and today's Polish community in Nevada.

Voices from the road

During the road trip, the team will record a series of short conversations with local people and travellers. Everyone gets the same question: “What does the American Dream mean to you?” Together, the answers will draw a portrait of today's America through the eyes of the people who live there.
